When enabled, CNet has the ability to charge you for many aspects of system activity, as a function of the time of day, the port you are using, the baud rate you are using, and your access group. The ACCOUNT command can be used to display your current balance, and accumulated charges for your current call.
You balance can be affected by the amount of time you spend on the system, or in any one of the system areas (vote, user list, conference, pfiles, etc).
Depending on the system's needs and configuration, the accounting system may be used for actual currency, or as a type of 'credit' system, where you are credited for certain activities, and debited for others, to encourage you to remain active on the BBS.
